Ten Sleep, Wyoming
At Meadowlark Lake Resort, the Bighorn Mountains rise like a promise on every horizon, and the water remembers every season. This is the Wyoming you've been searching for — unscripted, unhurried, and entirely yours.
— Wyoming Travel Tradition"The best journeys answer questions you didn't know you were asking."
Accommodations
Each room is designed to frame the landscape outside — whether you're watching the sunrise paint the Bighorns or listening to the lake whisper through pines.
Floor-to-ceiling windows face the lake directly. Wake to mist rising off the water and the distant call of a loon. King bed, private deck, and a stone fireplace.
Nestled among ponderosa pines at the resort's eastern edge. Timber beams, a clawfoot tub, and a wood-burning stove create a retreat within a retreat.
Built for those who travel together. Two queen beds, a generous sitting area, and direct trail access — the starting line for every Bighorn adventure.
The Experience
Meadowlark Lake Resort isn't a place you pass through. It's a place you settle into — slowly, deliberately, like light settling on still water. The Bighorn National Forest wraps around us on three sides, and the lake does the rest.
Mornings begin with coffee on the deck and the sound of water against the shore. Afternoons unfold however they will — a hike to a hidden basin, a boat on the lake, or simply reading in a rocking chair with nothing but sky above you. Evenings arrive with fireflies and the kind of silence that feels like a gift.
Surroundings
Ten Sleep sits at the crossroads of some of Wyoming's most extraordinary landscapes. Every season rewrites the map.
Trails radiate from our doorstep into the Bighorn National Forest — from gentle lakeside strolls to alpine passes that reward with views stretching into three states.
Cutthroat trout, rainbow, and lake trout fill our waters. Fly-fishing guides are available, and the river access just minutes away holds some of the state's finest tailwater fisheries.
Bald eagles, osprey, herons, and the namesake meadowlark — the lake and its surrounding wetlands host over 200 species. Spring and fall migrations turn every dawn into a spectacle.
Elk graze the meadows at dusk. Mule deer move through the cottonwoods. On clear evenings, the Milky Way arches so low it feels within reach — no light pollution to compete.
Spring wildflowers, summer boating, fall aspen gold, and winter snowshoeing — each season transforms the resort into a completely different place. Return often; nothing stays the same.
Buffalo, the county seat, is a short drive north — galleries, museums, and the annual Frontier Days celebration. Sheridan and Cody open further still, each with its own character and history.
